Ancient movable monuments in the surrounding area of a church in the area of Corinth were identified by the Department of Cultural Heritage and Antiquities of the Attica Security Directorate, while there were traces of illegal excavations at the site.

The ancient objects were examined by an archaeologist from the Ephorate of Antiquities of Corinth, who opined that they fall within the protective provisions of the Antiquities Protection Law and are of significant historical and archaeological value.

The antiquities are described as follows:

- stone tombstone of the classical period (480-300 BC),

- stone relief probably from the Hellenistic or Roman period,

- marble head,

- stone architectural member with a form in relief and

- a section of a ribbed column.

The antiquities will be handed over for safekeeping and final assessment to the Archaeological Museum of Ancient Sikyona.

The case file will be submitted to the Corinth First Instance Prosecutor.
